Sponsored by the Washington Area and Muscatine Amateur Radio Clubs

The Southeast Iowa Hamfest for 2008 is now history.  We had another fine fest marked by a great turnout and marred only by a brief rainshower with pea sized hail.   We had five commercial vendors!  The planning for next year is officially under way.  Our preliminary flier is now online.  We will keep it current through out the year.

Site setup and vendor setup went as well as usual on Saturday.  The evening Wiener Roast was a welcome break for club members and vendors as we gathered for food and conversation. Attendance was strong and the new pavilion made a splendid location. The rain-delayed race made chatting difficult, at best. This is the first time a race has fallen on our set-up day!

Splendid weather followed the rain and we saw a large field of tailgaters displaying everything one can imagine, or so it seemed.  Inside, the vendors sold the wide variety of goodies we've come to expect and that everyone took time to look over.  We are grateful to all our vendors who make our show worth the trip, welcoming back our stalwarts and "newbies".

We can't forget the VE team, laboring in the other building.  Once again, this area boasted a number of examinees. Additionally, the internet connection provided by Liberty Communications allowed us to make copies of missing license copies.
